On February 18, 2016,Tahota held its first intellectual property lecture of this year. We arehonored to have invited Doctor Fengling Li (Helen Li) from Fenwick & West,which headquarters in Silicon Valley and is the world’s leading high-tech andlife sciences law firm, to give us thesplendid lecture on Construction of IPR Protection System ofScience and Technology Enterprises.Thisfeast of intellectual property not only attracted Tahota lawyers from differentoffices, but also peer lawyers, business representatives and universitystudents around China. There are nearly 100 people attending the lecture. Themeeting was chaired by Dr. Jinhan Jiang the senior adviser of Tahota.

Dr. Fengling Li graduated from Santa Clara University inCalifornia, and she has a degree of Doctor of Laws and a degree of Doctor of ComputerEngineering. She has 10 years of work experience in Silicon Valley and has theregistered qualification of US Patent and Trademark Office. With the wealth of practiceexperience, Dr. Li explained to us the overview of the classificationof intellectual property rights, international PCT patent application, thepatent portfolio and the combination of core patents and periphery patents ofhigh-tech companies in the start-up phase in layman's language. With her interpretationof some real cases, U.S. patent application, which is quit different frommainland patent application but worthy of study, is vividly presented. In theensuing interactive quiz part, a number of lawyers and business representativeshad an in-depth exchange and communication with Dr. Li.
